West Seattle Family Seeking All Star Family Assistant/Nanny
Professional, experienced nanny employers in West Seattle are seeking a long-term Family Assistant/Nanny to support their active household near Alki Beach.
They enjoy traveling, supporting local Seattle teams, and spending quality time with extended family. The family has two school-age children in Kindergarten and 3rd grade who love art projects, sports, and music. Their daughter is a budding pianist, and their son is a history buff. They also have a lovable and energetic hypoallergenic dog.
This role combines after-school childcare with family assistant support. The kids have full and active extracurricular schedules, so strong organization, planning, and communication skills are essential. A top priority is finding someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with school-age children and supporting their interests, encouraging independence, and building strong, lasting relationships.
Position Details:
Schedule: 30 hours/week, Core required hours approximately 1–2pm to 6pm to cover afterschool care. Additional Family Assistant hours can be structured based on candidate preference—either consistent daily hours or condensed into 2–3 longer days. Additional hours are available for date nights.
Compensation: Up to $38-45/hr
Benefits: Guaranteed Hours, Two weeks PTO of Nanny’s choosing, 10 Paid Holidays, Sick Leave
Duration: 1-year commitment with desire for a long-term placement
Start Date: As soon as Mid-June, but flexible for the right fit
Responsibilities:
After-school care and school break coverage
Activity coordination, drop-offs/pickups (vehicle provided or mileage reimbursed)
Meal prep and light meal planning
Household organization and family assistant tasks (ie. laundry, running errands, availability to meet contractors, etc.)
Kids’ clothing, toys, and space organization
Playdate planning and local outings
Occasional date nights or overnights during travel
Comfort caring for an energetic medium sized dog
Ideal Candidate:
• 3+ years of professional childcare experience (school-age focus preferred)
Strong background in family assistant or household management roles
Organized, proactive, and self-directed
Warm, engaging, and reliable
Especially enjoys connecting with school-age children
Strong communicator and collaborative by nature
Familiar with West Seattle a plus
Dog-friendly
Agency Requirements:
Minimum Three years of recent and relevant professional experience
Must be authorized to work in the United States and willing to sign a W4 and employment contract
A minimum of three exemplary employer/work-related references from recent positions held
Must be able to submit to a thorough background and driving record checks
Must be fluent in both written and spoken English
Have an up-to-date Infant/Child First Aid/CPR certification
Connectivity: must have access to a reliable phone with cell and internet access
Must be willing to wear a mask and work through minor illnesses
Nannies must be physically able to lift 40lbs and maneuver around with ease (if accommodations are needed and able to be provided for, please state this in your application)
Must have reliable transportation and insurance if pertinent to position
Must be non-smoking
